daycare-parklandAt the Parkland Children’s Academy, a daycare in Parkland, we know how important it is to parents to find the right daycare for their child. We have compiled a list of 10 must-haves when searching for daycares.

Number 1 – is the daycare safe? The parents of the children who attend our Parkland daycare appreciate the measures we have put in place to keep the children safe. First of all, we have rubber flooring to cut down on the number of bumps and bruises. We know that young ones, only recently acquainted with walking, are not always so steady on their feet. We want them to be safe when they fall and we want to cut down on the number of injuries. This is also why we have rubber underneath our playground equipment – to help prevent low-impact injuries.

Number 2 – is the daycare secure? Often parents are leaving their children for full-days at our daycare for the first time ever. We have implemented a number of measures to ensure your children remain secure while under our watch. We have a touch screen at our entrance and entry to our daycare will only be allowed when parents’ fingerprints are recognized. We also allow you to watch your child from your home or office, via our web cam, and we are emergency preparedness equipped.

Number 3 – does the daycare encourage a healthy environment? The rubber flooring we have – also used in modern hospitals – does not support the growth of bacteria, going a long way in stopping the spread of germs and keeping our daycare in Parkland clean. We also have a nutritionist on staff to make sure children receive balanced, hot and healthy meals.

Number 4 – does the daycare have qualified teachers? At Parkland Children’s Academy we hire experienced teaches with all of the right credentials to look after your children. Not only will they provide excellent care, but they will also teach your children the skills they will need when they start school.

Number 5 – does the daycare provide the right curriculum for my child? While we understand that your children are too young for “school,” we pride ourselves on offering an age-appropriate curriculum to your children, helping to spark your children’s love of learning and prepare them for the upcoming school years. At our daycare we also provide ongoing assessments to monitor your children’s progress, as well as their needs and interests.

Number 6 – does the daycare have all it needs for teaching and caring for our children? The Parkland Children’s Academy is well equipped with all of the furniture, toys, and tools needed to provided excellent care and education to your children. At our daycare we even has a giant touch screen smart board, providing children with exposure to a new interactive learning approach.

Number 7 – does the daycare have a family atmosphere? While a family atmosphere may not be important to parents by the time a child is school-aged, in their early years it is beneficial to have the children cared for in an environment that feels less like school, and more like family. We are a family-fun daycare and we implement a family style dining during meals, where your child will be encouraged to use good manners and exercise proper eating habits.

Number 8 – is the daycare accessible? Our daycare is situated in Parkland and is easy to get to for dropping off and picking up your children. Also, we only use school buses, in accordance with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recommendations. We have a bus that serves as multifunctional transportation for our daycare.

Number 9 – does the daycare encourage children to be active? We do everything we can to encourage your children to have a healthy, active lifestyle. Our daycare has partnered with the local YMCA and we are committed to eliminating obesity in children. We offer tumbling, cheerleading, basketball, soccer, exercise routines and fitness programs, as ways to accomplishing this goal.

Number 10 – does the daycare offer Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Program? Once your children turn 4-years-old, they will qualify for Florida’s VPK program. It makes sense that your children will be able to stay in an environment they recognize and trust, rather than have to switch to another location. We are proud to offer a great VPK program, with an emphasis on early literacy.
