The Parkland Children’s Academy is a provider of the free VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) program and we look forward to having your 4-year-old in our class and getting him or her ready to start school!
One of the advantages to living in the state of Florida is the free VPK program that entitles all 4-year-old children, born on or before September 1, to join VPK where they will be taught age appropriate curriculum in an effort to give them the necessary skills to start school the next year. There is a strong emphasis on early literacy at VPK and the Parkland Children’s Academy is proud to be a private childcare facility that offers the free program.
Our free VPK program gives children a jumpstart in life by developing their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and of course, their social skills, so that they will be in a better position to become strong in these subjects once they start school. We hope to encourage a love of learning in children at an early age. There is no registration fee for this program at the Parkland Children’s Academy.
When choosing the free VPK program that is right for your child and family, parents have two options. You can go with the school-year VPK, which includes 540 instructional hours. Or you can go with the summer VPK, which includes 300 instructional hours. Parkland Children’s Academy’s VPK program meets the high standards of Florida law, and our instructors are all experienced and have the proper credentials, which includes a minimum of a child development associate for the school-year program, or a bachelor’s degree in early childhood or related fields for the summer program.
