Preschool is daunting for any child, and for that matter, any parent too. However, it is a necessity. If you want your child to prosper, invest in his or her education. And while quality education can sometimes be known to come with a hefty price tag, Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) programs are free to Floridians, which is the opposite of pricey, dare we say this resource is actually…priceless. Why? Because as an adult, some of us handle change better than others. Some adapt better than others. If this is true for us – it is most certainly true for our little ones.
Just as preschool aids readiness for elementary school, which readies kids for middle school then leads to high school and from there to university. Florida Early Learning’s VPK is really the launching pad for everything. The foundation, and every stage of learning requires building upon a strong foundation.
Some children take to each stage like a duck to water, while others struggle along the way. It’s all a part of growing up. And as parents your role is to invest in your child’s future and set them up to win. That is why you should seriously consider VPK programs for your son or daughter.
How Does it Work?
Firstly, and most exactingly, VPK is free. It is specifically aimed at children who turn 4 years of age on or before the 1st of September and runs as a school year of 540 instructional hours. The program has its own curriculum and covers a broad spectrum of learning aspects for kids. The classes are kept small to provide each child with excellent one on one attention. All you have to do is enroll your child at a VPK certified provider near you.
What are the Benefits of VPK?
There are many benefits to adding VPK to your child’s foundational phase of education. Parkland Children’s Academy has seen firsthand the immense difference early learning can offer children, and that is why we are VPK certified. From pre-math, pre-reading and social skills, to encouraging kids to move and build physical coordination, balance and strength, our VPK courses offer invaluable skills to help boost your children’s confidence as they enter the next 12 years or so of their scholastic lives.
Where do I Sign Up?
We always encourage parents to research and talk through their options. We believe that informed choices are the best choices, and while VPK may not be everyone’s preferred choice, it is one to consider. You will need to apply online for the program and receive a Certificate of Eligibility. Once you have that you can find a list of VPK providers, such as Parkland Children’s Academy, and continue the enrollment process further.
We at Parkland Children’s Academy operate as a family-oriented preschool and are dedicated to laying solid foundations through education, safety, health and development in a fun and friendly environment.
